Lauren Smith, LCPC
Psychotherapist
A place to sort through what’s going on and find your way back to yourself.
There’s a sense that something is off, even if nothing is obviously wrong.
From the outside, things may look fine. Internally, there’s a feeling of disconnection - like you’ve lost your footing or don’t quite feel like yourself anymore.
I work primarily with women in these in-between spaces, when it’s hard to name exactly what’s wrong, but you can feel that something has shifted.
This is a space to slow down, understand what’s going on underneath the surface, and move forward with more clarity.
Who I Work With
Relationship Strain & Patterns
You may find yourself repeating the same dynamics - overfunctioning, feeling unseen, or unsure how to ask for what you need.
Parenting
Including support for parents of neurodiverse children, where the emotional and cognitive load is often high and under-recognized.
Divorce & Co-Parenting
Support navigating the emotional and relational complexity of separation, rebuilding, and co-parenting with clarity and intention.
Life Transitions & Identity
Moments where life shifts - motherhood, career changes, loss, or relational change - and your sense of self feels less clear.
Caring for Others While Losing Yourself
You may be balancing the needs of children while also supporting aging parents, managing a career, and holding everything together. The weight of it is constant, and often invisible.
Anxiety in High-Functioning Adults
When you are capable and composed externally, but internally feel overwhelmed, unsettled, or constantly “on.”
Complex Childhood Experiences
You may have grown up in an environment that was unpredictable, emotionally intense, or required you to adapt quickly. You learned how to read the room, manage others’ emotions, or stay small to keep things steady. Those patterns often carry forward—shaping how you relate, what you tolerate, and how safe it feels to be fully known.
